2010 General Elections -- Albany County Voter's Guide

This is the personal voting guide of one Nanach.  Other Nanachs may differ.

For the Gov./Lt. Gov leave it blank.  Paladino apologized for his (rightfully) criticizing same-sex unions.

The Talmud (Chullin 92) states that the gentile nations merit to exist because of three commandments they keep -- the first one is "THEY DO NOT WRITE A MARRIAGE CONTRACT FOR MALES!"

For the other offices vote the Republican candidate.

  1. On the advice of our friend Dovid Schwartz we will probably vote for Paladino and leave Att. General blank.

    Rabosai:
With our deepest apologies for the confusion, please discard the previous version of the Frum Voter's Guide emailed to you last night. That version contained an endorsement for Mr. Dan Donovan for Attorney General. We endorsed Mr. Donovan, who supports civil unions, because he appeared to be the lesser of two evils, the worse being, his opponent, Senator Schneiderman, who calls for full toeiva marriages. After reflection on this inyan we believe that supporting Mr. Donovan is not in keeping with daas Torah.
Hashem has charged us with a duty to make the histadlus in this world. We cannot rely on miracles. Nevertheless, it’s the opinion of the Guide staff that Hashem might not want us to compromise our morals, to recruit the help of morally questionable people, in order to advance ourselves.
We believe that voting for Mr. Donovan is not a valid hishtadlus. Hashem is “yoshev btehillos Yisroel,” and someone who supports toeivas like Mr. Donovan should not receive the siata d’Shmaya that would come with the praises of our communities. Hashem is the King of Kings, and He has the means of dealing with people like Mr. Schneiderman by many messengers. We do not need to put our support behind one questionable person in order to get rid of a worse one.

Please forward this (corrected) Guide on to your family, friends and neighbors! Hatzlocha and all the best.
